First Generation Second hand PlayStation 4 Consoles

The first generation was released in 2013. It features sharp corners and a light indicator along the top, separating the gloss and matt covers. The first generation plays all the same games as the newer consoles, and you can download the same apps, such as NetFlix and Showmax. An updated version of the first gen was released in 2018, which is noticeable as the gloss cover is matt like the rest of the PS4.

The first generation is the cheapest Playstation 4 second-hand console, available in 500 GB and 1 TB.

Slim PlayStation 4 Second hand

Released in 2016, the slim PlayStation 4 offers the same graphic capabilities as the original first-generation model but is much smaller and has lower fan noise. The slim has rounded corners as the light indicator appears on the power button.

Second-hand PlayStation 4 Slim consoles tend to cost slightly more than the first generation, but not by much. They're also available in 500 GB and 1 TB versions and can run all the same apps and features.

Second hand PlayStation 4 Pro

The PS4 Pro was also released in 2016 and is known as the biggest of the range. It features a design with three levels. The console was released as a 1 TB only and offers better graphics than the first generation and is slim.

First Geneartion PlayStation 5 Second hand

The Sony PlayStation 5 was announced in 2019 and released on 19 November 2020 in multiple countries. It only arrived in South Africa a week later and features a disc and digital version.

The disc and digital versions provide the same graphic abilities. The only difference is that the disc version can play PS4 and PS5 disc games, while purchasing games online is the only option for the digital version.

Second-hand PlayStation 5 consoles are about 30% cheaper than new ones and are relatively trouble-free when purchased from a reliable second-hand consoles store.

Second hand PlayStation 5 Slim

The PS5 Slim was revealed on 10 October 2023 and first released in November 2023. While offering the same graphics and speed as the first generation, Sony applied some essential upgrades to the console.
