It's recently come to our attention that scammers are using huge companies and trying to duplicate their websites to scam you. In the quick read below, we'll show you how to recognize these sites and avoid them at all costs.
Facebook is one of the biggest marketing platforms for major retailers such as Takealot and Game. We've all come to trust them and commonly click on the ads, but how do you know it's actually the right website?

Most of us would open the link from Facebook, see the "Game" logo, and trust that we're on the right website. We're bound to be impressed by the amazing PS5 deals, especially getting a digital console for just R7799.
However, pay attention to the website's address (the URL). It says gamestore-online.co.za, which might still fool a few people into thinking it's the right website. However, Game's actual website is Game.co.za.
If you made a purchase on this website, you might think you've just scored the deal of the year. You might even get tracking confirmation and be told your order is on the way. However, you'll never receive it.
Websites like this only stay up for a few days - especially around Black Friday - and are taken down just in time to disappear with everyone's money.
How to Recognize PS5 Scam Websites

The URL of any website is always the best way to see scamming websites. If you're not sure if it's the right website, Google the company and open their website to see if it's the same.
While you're on the official website, look for the same deals and check if they match. It's quite obvious if the company is actually running those deals, you should be able to find them anywhere, right?
As you can see in the image, the URL (website address) is Game.co.za. However, none of the same PS5 specials are available, a perfect indication that the other website is a scam.
