What is the PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Edition?
The PS5 30th Anniversary Edition celebrates 30 years of PlayStation. Sony will release a special PS5 Pro model that features a unique PlayStation One design. The standard package is a PS5 Pro digital edition, but the package will include a disc drive cover for those who want to upgrade the console to the disc version.
Only 12,300 Limited Edition PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Edition consoles will be available worldwide. Each console will be numbered, making it one of the most collectible Sony consoles to release.

The 30th Edition PS5 Pro release featured multiple collectible items, all of which will only be available for a limited time. These limited edition items are expected to be available at retail stores around the same time as the PS5 Pro Limited Edition console.

The PS5 Pro 30th Edition bundle is expected to be released alongside the PS5 Pro and will be available at retailers on 13 December 2024. The bundle package will include the following:

The bundle above will retail for $999, or R19,499, in South Africa. However, even though pre-orders have opened, the PS5 Pro Limited Edition doesn't seem to be available in South Africa yet. Retailers do, however, have the PS5 Slim 30th Edition.
The PS5 Slim 30th Edition Package is Not the Same
Since late October 2024, the PS5 Slim 30th Edition has been available at retailers in South Africa. However, it's not the same limited edition as the PS5 Pro console. The slim version is not numbered, and there's no indication of how many will be produced. Therefore, if you're hoping to purchase a limited edition package and keep it as a collector's item, it won't have the same value as the PS5 Pro 30th Edition.
The PS5 Slim 30th Anniversary Edition is still available at well-known retailers such as Koodoo in South Africa, and Sony has already announced that more of these consoles will be available.

The PS5 Slim 30th Anniversary console is currently available for pre-order, and more of these will be available at a later stage. The console package mentioned above is available for R12,499 in South Africa.
Other PS5 30th Edition Accessories
Sony will also release other accessories with the same PS One theme, adding more collectibles to the 30th Edition. The prices in South Africa have been released, and the following collectible accessories will also be available at retailers from 13 December 2024. Stock will be limited, so it's recommended to order items as soon as pre-orders go live on 25 October.
