The stores offer various promotions and discounts, making it cheaper to buy the digital games. With the monthly subscription you'll even score free games. Sure, they might not be exactly what you want, but it's free, so why not?
Is it Really the Best Choice to get the Most for Your Console?
While this is convenient, many don't consider the resell value of their consoles and games. When buying games online, they form part of your account, meaning you cannot sell them again.

This means it's linked to their email and they have the ability to take back ownership of the account at any time. You'll also struggle to load new banking details, get notifications, setup email verifications and more.
Even contacting the Playstation Network or Xbox Live if they previous owner took back the account would be useless. Both the networks would tell you they cannot do anything as the registered email is the owner of the account.
There's also no way of switching over the account to your email or making the account yours. The original owner would always be able to reclaim ownership of the account.
